TERMS OF USE

This tutorial gives you the "flashing neon" text and graphics effects, without limiting you to just dark or black backgrounds. By experimenting with colors, you can have a wide variety as seen here.

First open a new image, 500 by 500. Make your background transparent.

Select the text and font you would like to use. My choice in this tutorial is "Quill". Set your size at 48, font "bold". Make sure you have the boxes "vector" and "antialias" checked.

Center your text in the center of your transparent image. You can enlarge it by clicking on the squares and stretching it, or make it smaller.

In the upper menu bar across the top of your PSP, scroll across to "Layers". Scroll down to "Merge" and select "merge visible".

Now to choose an effect. Again in the top menu bar, select "Effects" Scroll down to "Plug In Filters" Scroll across and select "Eye Candy 3.1" From that menu scroll down to "Inner bevel" and left click on it.

Choose your settings for your bevel any way you like. These are the settings I used for making this tutorial

After applying the inner bevel. You can place your tube, dingbat or pic near the text. Now merge VISIBLE layers only. Otherwise you lose your transparent background, which we need to keep so that we can apply our completed picture to our colored background later. If when you click to merge your layers, "merge visible" is grayed out, you don't need to do a thing.
